Principal Update: Week 6, Term 4

Updated: Nov 19, 2023

Kia ora koutou Enner Glynn whanau,

Welcome to Week 6’s blog.

Teaching Appointments - 2024

This week I am pleased to announce that we have 7 new (some not so new) staff members for 2024. We are delighted to announce that Hayley Wilson will continue in the Manaaki team, and Annie Smith, Liberty Van Voorthuysen, and Rachael Brown will be working in Te Ara Team with our Year 3 /4 students.

Next year we welcome Lydia Borlase, Julia Kostermann & Stephanie Williams who will be working in the Manaaki Team with our Year 5/6 students.

Disco

Congratulations to our FoS team for all their hard work which made for a fantastic disco!

This was a delightful event and it is great to see the children having so much fun. What a great event to kick start the re-formation of parents who are willing to support and build our school community, and also raise money to further support the learning of our students!

Senior Athletics

Our senior students had their athletics day at Saxon Fields on Wednesday. We had lovely weather and this was a great day for one and all. Our thanks to Riley and Tenielle for their organisation, and thanks also to the staff and FoS team who supported to make the day a successful one.

Term 4 - Policy - Review

Each term we review a number of policies, which you as parents are very welcome to have input into. To do this you will need to visit the policies section on our website - https://www.ennerglynn.school.nz/ and follow the instructions to gain access to school docs.

In term 4 the Board of Trustees will review the following policies:

  1. Student Achievement Information

  2. Religious Instruction/ Religious Education

  3. Health Education

Class Placements

We have finalised our class placements for next year. As a staff we have worked hard to ensure we have done the very best for all our students. We have also taken into consideration requests from parents, and have endeavoured to make sure all students have at least one friend in their class for next year, along with providing balance, social groups and learning needs.

Classes will be announced next Wednesday 22nd November. The children will then have a visit in their new classroom.

We urge you to work with your child to see new possibilities, to make new friends in the case where they are not with all their friends, and to grow resilience when faced with something different.
