Kia ora e te whānau o Te Awaawa Iti.
He nui te pōuri me te whakahīhī e whai ake nei i taku korenga ki te noho tonu hei Tumuaki mō te kura nei.
I write to you with much sadness and a little excitement as I announce my decision to step down as Principal/Tumuaki of Enner Glynn School.
From the 20th of September, I will move into a role with the Workforce Development Council, providing guidance as a national careers and pathways advisor. This role will allow me to continue contributing to the education workforce and supporting others in teaching and education. I will continue to be based in Whakatū.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been alongside me in this Tumuaki role. I start with our current and previous Boards. Each has supported me in my learning and research and I will be forever grateful for this. I particularly thank this Board for their support of this decision. Mention must also go to the staff I have worked with over my time here. We have learned a great deal together and I would like to thank you all for teaching me so much. You will be sorely missed (but I am sure we'll continue to catch up!).
The tāmariki have been my reason for coming to work every day, and it was they who have made this decision so difficult. I will miss their wonderful presence and smiles. I would also like to thank all of the whānau who chose Enner Glynn as the school for their children. My interactions with you have been positive, and, despite some differences of opinion, I have enjoyed connecting with you all.
Finally, to my whānau, who have been there throughout, my grateful thanks for your love and support.
Enner Glynn School is lucky to have a fabulous, and highly capable Board of Trustees. They have taken on the role of starting an appointment process for a new Tumuaki and will work to ensure the school’s future leadership continues to contribute to its success. They will be starting the consultation process very soon. Should you have any questions in the meantime, please direct them to Lisa Charles, our Board’s Presiding Member. She can be contacted at l.charles@ennerglynn.school.nz
For matters regarding the recruitment process, the Board will be in contact with you in due course.
Mā te wā, ka kite anō tātou. Mauri ora ki a koutou katoa.
Ngā manaakitanga,
Isaac Day
