Kia ora koutou Enner Glynn whanau,
Welcome to Week 2’s blog. This is the first blog for the term.
Michael Breingan - RIP
The past few weeks have been a sad and challenging time for our staff and students, with the death of a wonderful teacher and colleague.
Michael’s unique personality has touched so many… not only those who are here at school presently, but also those students and families who were associated with Michael over the past 19 years here at Enner Glynn.
Michaels larger than life presence delighted all who worked with him, and we will miss so many things that we have always associated with him … the quick witted comments during meetings; the talent show entertainer, and the sports commentator for all sporting events to name a few. Not only did these endear him to us, but his warmth, care for all, and his love of teaching will be truly missed.
May he rest in peace.
Assembly
At our regular Friday assembly, we will share some memories of Michael (Mr B). This is not an official memorial. Rather it is a time to celebrate Mr B, centering our focus on the children.
Next year we plan to plant a tree in memory of Michael, and have seating (with a plaque) beneath the tree. We know Michael loved to chat, so we think it fitting to have an area outside Manaaki to remember him.
A reminder also that we have a memorial book here at the front office - please come in and sign this. We will present this to Michael’s family at a later date.
