Dear Enner Glynn School Whānau,
I hope this message finds you well. As we spring toward Term 4, I wanted to update you on some important developments regarding our school leadership, staff changes, and planning for 2025.
Acting Principal Appointment
I am pleased to announce that Jillian Porter has graciously accepted the role of Acting Principal for Term 4. Jillian brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to our school community. She has been an integral part of our leadership team and is well-prepared to guide our school during this transitional period. I am confident that under her leadership, Enner Glynn School will continue to thrive.
This is likely to mean further staff changes for Term 4, and we will keep you updated on these developments as these decisions are made.
Community Consultation on Principal Appointment
As part of our commitment to ensuring that the voice of our school community is heard in the appointment of our new principal, The Board are organising two opportunities for you to share your thoughts and ideas:
Tuesday, 3 September: Drop-in session from 8:30 - 9:30 am in the School Library.
Friday, 6 September: Community consultation from 2:30 - 3:30 pm in Te Manawa. This will be a family-friendly event, and we will be offering sausages and ice cream for the children.
Your feedback is invaluable in helping us select a leader who will best meet the needs and aspirations of our students, staff, and whānau. We encourage you to come along, share your thoughts, and be a part of this important process.
Planning for 2025 Class Placements
We are currently in the process of determining how our classes will look for 2025. If whānau have any information that may support their child’s placement for next year, please let us know by Friday, 1 November. Your input helps us make informed decisions to best support your child’s learning with us into the future.
Farewells
As many of you are aware, our principal Isaac Day will be moving on this Term. In addition, we will also be farewelling several valued members of our staff at the end of this year:
Liberty Van Voorthuysen (Year 3 & 4)
Riley Benseman (currently on leave)
Kyra Wilkie (Year 1/2)
Nigel Hands, our dedicated property manager
We are deeply grateful for the contributions each of these individuals has made to our school community. They have left a lasting impact on our students and staff, and they will be greatly missed. We wish them all the very best in their future endeavours.
Planning for the Future
As we look ahead to the end of the year, we ask that if you are planning for your child to leave Enner Glynn School at the end of 2024, please inform the school office as soon as possible. This information is crucial for our planning, allowing us to make the necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth transition for both your child and the school's staffing requirements into 2025.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our school. Together, we continue to make Enner Glynn School a vibrant and nurturing place for our children to learn and grow.
Ngā mihi nui,
Isaac Day
Principal
